Bio:
Dr.
Pamela Burnard’s career has
been woven from a combination of experiences as a
musician, performer, educator, academic and researcher
in Australia, USA and England from where she holds
degrees in Music Performance, Music Education, and
Education. She is internationally known for her work in
the areas of creative learning and teaching, musical
creativity/ies, assessing creativity and the sociology
of music education. She acts as mentor for the Welsh
Educational Research Network (WERN). Internationally
known for her work as an academic, educator, researcher,
editor and workshop facilitator, Pamela is co-convenor
of the BERA Creativity SIG, co-editor of the British
Journal of Music Education, Associate Editor of
Psychology of Music and serves on 9 other editorial
boards. Pamela manages an extensive research seminar
programme which supplements the Masters in Arts, Culture
and Education, a course she initiated and has built
extensive networks which link university, school and
community arts organizations.

Bio:
Prof. Dr. İnci
SAN was born in Ankara. In 1959, she has graduated from
Department of German Language and Literature. And she
has received certificate from the Department of English
Language and Literature. She speaks German and English
languages fluently. She received university education in
Art History and Archaeology. She completed Theatre
Institute in two-years and the French Cultural
Association of the Language Education Department in
four-year program. She began her academic studies at the
University of Hacettepe as Assistant on Art History in
1965 and as Assistant Professor in Ankara University
Faculty of Education in 1967. Her doctoral thesis title
is "Artistic Creation and Creativity in Children" in
1974, she became Associate Professor in 1981 with the
entitled work "Art Education Theories". In 1988, she was
promoted as Professor in various fields of science on
art education and art works. Prof. Dr. Inci SAN was
voluntarily retired in 1982 and she was Head of the Fine
Arts Department of Education until 2000. She served in
the Ministry of Education and Culture Ministry. She
worked art education, creative drama and worked in the
fields of museum education. She taught undergraduate and
postgraduate courses and arranged international
seminars. In total, She has 10 books and she was Editor
of 5 books, over 80 published scientific papers,
articles and various writings. Inci SAN is Honorary
President of the Association of Contemporary Drama and
SEDER (Art Educators Association), Association of
Construction Supervisor on Children's Museums, founding
member of the National Education Association and
founding member of ASSITEJ, Association for the Support
of Contemporary Living, and member of Turkish-German
Cultural Affairs Council. She has awards from various
academic institutions and also, she had 2004 3th ETHOS
Ankara International Theater Festival Honor Award. Prof.
Dr. Inci SAN received Muhsin Ertugrul’s 2005 UNICEF
Turkey National Committee Award, and the 2007 National
Education Association, Education Honor Award.

Jeff Adams

Bio:
Jeff Adams is a Professor in the Faculty
of Education and Children's Services at the University of
Chester, where he is leader of the Professional Doctorate in
Education programme; he is also Principal Editor of the
International Journal of Art & Design Education.
Overview
Before the current academic year Jeff
worked at Edge Hill University as Reader in Education, where he
coordinated doctoral studies in the Faculty of Education, and
led the Doctoral Society and the University Academic Reading
Group. He was also research Mentor and co-Institutional Lead for
the inter-university ESRC project, the Teachers' Education
Research Network (TERN). This followed several years at
Goldsmiths College, University of London, where he developed and
led the Artist Teacher MA Programme. Prior to this Jeff lectured
at Liverpool John Moores University, coordinating the Artist
Teacher MA and the PGCE Secondary Art and Design course;
concurrent with this he was tutoring modern art history for the
Open University. Jeff's earlier career was spent teaching in
secondary comprehensive schools in Yorkshire and Cumbria. His BA
was in Fine Art (painting and photography), his MA in History of
Art (contemporary art and popular culture), and he has a PGCE
Art and Design; his PhD (University of Liverpool, 2003) was
entitled ‘Graphic Novels and Social Realism'.
Research
Jeff's research interests include:
creativity (he is currently part of a funded interuniversity
project researching creativity in teacher education);
contemporary art education; applying theory to educational
research; politics and documentary in the arts, particularly
graphic novels and comics; the professional development of
teachers, especially those working in the arts. Jeff is
Principal Editor of the International Journal of Art and Design
Education.

Jeff's books include Documentary Graphic
Novels and Social Realism (Peter Lang, 2008); Teaching Through
Contemporary Art (with Worwood, Atkinson, Dash, Herne & Page;
Tate Publishing, 2008); The Application of Theory to Education
Research (with Cochrane & Dunne (Eds), Wiley-Blackwell,
forthcoming 2011); a recent journal paper is ‘Risky choices: the
dilemmas of introducing contemporary art practices into
schools', in the British Journal of Sociology of Education
